S.N.-N.M.-08
This permanent installation of the work, S.N.-N.M.-08,is found on the second floor of the renovated City Hall of Menen (NoA architects). The photograph is printed with pigment inks on extremely thin Japanese silk paper and measures about 4 × 3 meters. With its baroque lines and textural suggestions, this monumental close-up shot of a mirror makes its own statement in the strict, modern lines of the new stairwell and hallway. The image seems to disappear into the wall, as it were, becoming a contemporary version of a mural. S.N.-N.M.-08 presents itself as the ultimate optical illusion: a mirror, but a mirror that does not reflect anything within view around it.
